1. Who we are and what SharpCV does

SharpCV is an online career services platform operated by [FULL LEGAL NAME / ENTITY] ("SharpCV", "we", "us"). SharpCV provides candidate-side tools that: analyse your CV, match you to advertised job opportunities based on preferences you set, generate tailored CVs and cover letters for specific listings, and prepare and submit job applications on your instruction. SharpCV acts as your tool and on your mandate. We are not a recruitment agency, temporary employment service or employer, and we do not act for or charge the employers whose listings we match you to.

2. Your account and information

• You must be 18 or older to use SharpCV.
• You warrant that the CV and information you provide are your own, accurate and truthful. Tailoring rephrases and emphasises your real experience; it does not invent qualifications, and you must not ask us to include false information.
• You are responsible for reviewing every tailored CV and cover letter before approving it. By approving, you confirm its contents are accurate.

3. Applications and your mandate

• Approval-first by default: we only submit an application to an employer or job platform after you approve that specific application (via the website, email or WhatsApp confirmation).
• Once you approve an application and it has been submitted, it cannot be recalled — the employer controls what happens next.
• If we offer an optional automatic-application mode in future, it will apply only if you expressly enable it, will operate within the criteria you set, and can be disabled at any time. Applications submitted while it was enabled are deemed made on your instruction.
• The final decision to pursue, accept or decline any job opportunity is always yours.

4. What we do not promise

• We do not guarantee interviews, responses from employers, or employment. We improve the quality and targeting of your applications; hiring decisions belong to employers.
• Job listings are sourced from public job boards and platforms. We do not control their accuracy, availability, or the conduct of the employers behind them.
• AI-generated content can contain errors. That is why every application requires your review and approval.

5. Free previews, credits and payment

• New users receive a limited number of free preview applications at no charge and with no card required.
• Paid use works on a per-application, bundle or subscription basis as displayed at the time of purchase. Prices are in South African Rand and include VAT where applicable.
• Payments are processed by third-party South African payment providers; we do not store your card details.
• Credits that have not yet been used to generate an application are refundable on request within 14 days of purchase. Once an application has been generated or submitted for you, the corresponding credit has been consumed and is non-refundable. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008.

6. Acceptable use

You may not use SharpCV to misrepresent your identity or qualifications, to apply on behalf of another person without their authority, to spam employers, or for any unlawful purpose. We may suspend accounts that breach this section.

7. Intellectual property

The tailored CVs and cover letters we generate for you are yours to use for your job search. The SharpCV platform, brand and underlying technology remain ours.

8. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal information under POPIA and forms part of these terms.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, SharpCV's total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 6 months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of employment opportunities. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under South African law.

10. Termination

You may stop using SharpCV and request deletion of your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts for breach of these terms, with notice where reasonable.

11. General

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remain in force. We may update these terms; material changes will be posted here with an updated date, and continued use after notice constitutes acceptance.
